Advanced Diploma of Visual Arts

The Advanced Diploma of Visual Arts is a progressive contemporary fine arts course. Study areas include painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, printmaking and video and digital imaging. A range of theory study areas are also explored, featuring conceptual and stylistic strategies of art practices since the 1960s.

Areas covered:

Develop sound practices through multidisciplinary modes of study
Develop aesthetic, social, environmental and ethical concepts and processes necessary to a satisfying personal philosophy and sound professional attitude
Enable students to participate in the arts industry and to be aware of the role of artists in society
Self employment opportunities in the visual arts industry
To create opportunities for further arts training

Employment Prospects
Upon completion of the Advanced Diploma of Visual Arts, students may work in the visual arts industries where traditional practices converge with new video and digital technologies.

Dual Diploma of Building and Construction and Project Management

This course is designed to meet the needs of builders, including selecting contractors, overseeing the work and its quality, and liaising with clients.

Areas covered:

Apply building codes and standards to the construction process for low rise building projects
Select and prepare a construction contract
Identify and produce estimated costs for building and construction projects
Apply structural principles to residential low rise constructions
Prepare and evaluate tender documentation
Apply building codes and standards to the construction process for medium rise building projects
Manage construction work
Manage project risk, communication, quality, scope and time

Employment Prospects
Upon completion of this course applicants would be eligible to apply for accreditation with the Australian Institute of Project Management and with the Master Builders. This course will assist those seeking to be a registered builder. The Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) is government-accredited and nationally recognised, and is supported by the Building Practitioners Board (BPB), the Australian Institute of builders (AIB), and the Housing Industry Association (HIA).
