Course Overview

The Diploma of Professional Writing and Editing provides training in creative and vocational writing and industry-standard copyediting and proofreading. Aspiring writers and editors will find a disciplined and supportive learning environment and the chance to further their work in a particular genre by undertaking a mentored project. The Diploma provides a pathway to employment and tertiary study in writing, journalism and copyediting.

Upon successful completion of this course students will be eligible to receive the Diploma of Professional Writing and Editing.

Entry Requirements

Candidates for the Diploma of Professional Writing and Editing should have completed the Certificate IV in Professional Writing and Editing or be able to demonstrate equivalent competencies at an interview and by presenting a portfolio of work.

This course uses a range of assessments, including written work, portfolios, online presentations, research projects and multiple choice tests.

Opportunities For Further Study

Diploma graduates with favourable results may proceed to related university courses. The Diploma guarantees credit for eight units in the Bachelor of Journalism, Monash University.
