Open access is available at Warragul Campus to supplement online delivery for those that wish to get assistance with their work from a teacher in a classroom. Computers, all software and broadband are available to online students in the Open Access IT Lab.

Open access: Tuesday 12.30pm to 3.30pm and Wednesday 6.00pm to 9.30pm, during Term. Open access is not a requirement of the course. Email help is available on a daily basis.

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who use well-developed skills and a broad knowledge base in a wide variety of contexts in the film, television, radio, and digital media industries.

Employment Prospects

This qualification (depending on electives chosen) is designed to reflect the role of personnel producing multimedia products that perform a range of artistic, administrative and technical duties such as:
  • producing animation, both 2D and 3D
  • producing graphics
  • editing multimedia material
  • developing web sites /intranet sites/pages

  • authoring /developing CD and DVD ROMs

Online Requirements

You will need a computer with the following as minimum:
  • 2GB RAM
  • 30 GB free hard drive space
  • Three-button mouse
  • 1,280x900 display with OpenGL 2.0-compatible graphics card.
  • DVD-ROM drive (DVD-RW drive for DVD burning)
  • Broadband internet access preferred but documents on CD may be provided if only dialup is available.

Entry Requirements

Good computer skills or workplace experience or hold a Certificate III Multimedia or Certificate III in Information Technology or Graphic Art or Photography Certificates.

CUFIND301A Work effectively in the screen and media industries
Work effectively while creating media products such as business cards and letter heads using Illustrator. Using the Discussion board, includes Copyright and Industry knowledge.
WSOHS301A Follow occupational health and safety procedures
Occ Health and Safety pertaining to the Office environment, using computers. Reporting hazards and reducing risks.

Create audio for various products using software such as Audacity and Adobe Sound Booth

Create video using a digital/video camera as well as still photos. Edit and save for use in a web site. Software can be Movie Maker, Adobe Premiere.

Set up file naming systems - File and Index - Creating archives for media assets and using media assets stored in a library. Dealing with Copyright permission.
