Course Overview

The Diploma of Vocational Education and Training Practice assists in building pedagogical expertise by preparing teachers to adjust their practice in light of the complex needs of their students and the environments in which they learn; to include new learning technologies in their delivery and assessment to explore the theoretical bases of good teaching practice so they have the tools they need to review and build upon their performance.

Qualifications And Recognition

Upon successful completion of this course students will be eligible to receive the Diploma of Training and Assessment.

Entry Requirements

This course is for GippsTAFE personnel.

Entry requires applicants to have completed the TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus TAADEL402A Facilitate group-based learning or BSZ40198 Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training and deliver a minimum of 200 student contact hours for the curriculum year.

Assessment

Assessment includes online postings, triad and group work, personal reflections, essays, journal readings, written critiques, voice postings together with the production of teaching materials, on-line resources and lesson plans.  The delivery of presentations to groups individually and in small teams will also be undertaken.

Recognition of Prior Learning
RPL is available to those who have documented evidence of achievement in the relevant units of competency.
