    Course Overview

Nursing is an exciting career choice and suited to those passionate about helping people and health care. This course prepares you to become an Enrolled Nurse and to work in the modern health care environment.

The Diploma of Nursing course will provide graduates the opportunity to apply for registration to practice as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. Enrolled nurses work in aged care, acute surgical and medical wards, mental health, rehabilitation and community health.

This course can lead to articulation in a Bachelor of Nursing Practice at Monash University Gippsland and undergraduate nursing degrees at other universities or post registration units in the Advanced Diploma of Nursing.

Are you a currently enrolled nurse?

Applicants seeking to enrol in the post registration course format must be currently enrolled nurses with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, must be qualified in medicines administration, and must be currently employed as an enrolled nurse.

This course is also being offered at the Warragul Campus as a post registration opportunity to recognise expanded scope of practice, skills and knowledge of currently enrolled nurses who trained pre 2010.  Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) will form the basis of assessment and students will be required to enrol in units and undertake both workshop, online and workplace based training to meet identified knowledge gaps.

    Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Many GippsTAFE courses offer Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Click to learn more about RPL and how it can benefit you.
