Course Overview

Completing your apprenticeship at GippsTAFE means you'll get to study in a supportive environment and learn from experienced teachers with a real passion for the industry.  This course is designed to give you trade skills required for your employment as an apprentice for a parks and gardens enterprise.  You will learn to safely handle and use industry specific tools and equipment and will also be provided with training across a range of tasks, including garden care, plant culture, landscape design, construction, maintenance and more.

This course teaches you about preparing and maintaining seedbeds, gardens and lawn; how to plant and propagate trees and plants; installing and maintaining garden systems; treating pests and operating equipment.

Entry Requirements

  • Currently apprenticed to an employer in the horticultural industry. Before commencement of training an agreement must be signed between the employer, apprentice and GippsTAFE.
