Course Overview

Do you enjoy being outdoors and making things grow? A career in horticulture could be for you.

This course teaches you about creating and maintaining turf. You'll gain the practical skills needed to gain entry-level work in the turf industry? You might find yourself helping to maintain sports fields, race tracks, parks or private lawns. You could also go on to develop your skills even further by enrolling in advanced courses.

Employment Prospects

  • Groundsperson (for sporting arenas, councils, golf courses, bowling clubs, private homes)
  • Turf grower and suppliers who produce turf for sporting complexes
  • Environmental and land-care project work establishing grasses to resolve erosion problems

  • Successful completion of Year 10.
