Course Overview

Palliative Care is the care of patients with active, progressive, far-advanced disease and a short life expectancy. For these patients, the focus of care is the relief and prevention of suffering and an enhanced quality of life. This unit describes the knowledge and skills required to implement and evaluate quality care for ageing clients, or those with life-limiting illness.

Qualifications And Recognition

Upon completion of this course, students will be issued with a Statement of Attainment.

Entry Requirements

To enrol in this program you must hold a minimum requirement of:

  • Certificate III in Aged Care OR
  • Certificate IV in Disability OR
  • Nursing qualifications

You must also be currently working in the Aged Care sector.
