Course Overview

Qualified electricians are employed in domestic, commercial, industrial and heavy industrial sectors.  Electrical tradespeople are also in demand in the electrical distribution and transmission sectors.

The course is structured to provide participants with a significant advantage when competing for employment as in the electrical or instrumentation trades. Many employers view this qualification positively when selecting a successful applicant.

Qualifications And Recognition

Upon successful completion of this course students will be eligible to receive the Certificate II in Electrotechnology Studies (Pre-vocational).

Employment Prospects

  • System electrician in areas such as domestic or industrial
  • Instrumentation trades in areas such as measurement, process control, temperature and flow, and use of scientific instruments

Entry Requirements

Applicants should have a minimum of Year 11 or equivalent Math Methods and English skills. Both areas are important.

Maths is important in all areas of Electrotechnology. As a guide, visit EE-OZ Training Standards (http://www.ee-oz.com.au/), the Industry Training Council for Electrotechnolgy. On the RHS "Take the Test" and get an idea of the type and standard of maths needed throughout in the industry.

Each unit will have a theory component (65% pass mark) and a practical component (100% correct).
