Course Overview

This qualification applies to community work delivered through a broad range of services providing support to enable the resolution of disputes between individuals.
It is a specialist qualfication designed to support the practice of mediation and co-mediation across a broad range of agencies, community groups and families.
Graduates at this level are required to have an understanding of indigenous culture and history and to work with community based organisations in the provision of community services.

Students may be able to shorten the length of their study by applying to have skills acquired through work, life experiences or previous qualifications formally recognised as satisfying any component of this course.

Qualifications And Recognition

Upon successful completion of this course students will be eligible to receive the Certificate IV in Mediation.

Employment Prospects

This program is beneficial for people required to apply the skills for mediation and conflict resolution in personal or professional settings. These may include mediators, human resource professionals, management committee, managers, team leaders, teachers, union representatives or officials, customer service staff, community and welfare workers.

Entry Requirements

Suited to a person who has current experience and skills as a mediator and can provide sufficient evidence to support this claim against the units of competency.
