Course Overview

This new DUAL certificate is an exciting NEW opportunity for students who desire a career in the hairdressing and beauty industries.  It offers the best of both worlds which can be very useful if you are a little undecided as to which industry might suit you best or if you want to work towards a career in both industries that naturally complement each other.

This course is suitable for both school leavers and candidates wanting a career change.

On successful completion of this dual certificate it gives students an entry level qualification into both industries.  Students can then choose to follow their chosen career paths within Hairdressing, Beauty or both with further study in Certificate III, IV or Diploma levels at GippsTAFE.

Qualifications And Recognition

Upon successful completion of this course students will be eligible to receive the Certificate II in Make-Up Services.

Employment Prospects

Entry level Hairdressing and Beauty Salon Assistant.  Gives a pathway to further Certificate III, IV and Diploma qualifications within Hairdressing and Beauty.

Entry Requirements

Candidates must be a minimum of 15 years of age.
Year 10 pass is preferred.
All applicants will be required to attend an interview process.

Assessment

Practical demonstrations, practical demonstrations in simulated work conditions, problem solving, documents/folio, critical incident reports, journals, oral presentations, dvd/videos, case studies, projects, group projects, group discussions, excursions, work placement, written/practical assessments.
