Language, Literacy and Numeracy

It is hard for me to find the words to explain how much TAFE has done for me. I have always had difficulty reading and writing. People told me I would never be able to progress in my career and I was terrified of going back to school.

When I moved to Gippsland in 2007 and couldn't find work I knew something had to change. I enrolled in the Language, Literacy and Numeracy Program (LLNP) at GippsTAFE and I haven't looked back.

TAFE was the best decision I have ever made for my education and career. The program has taught me how to study. My spelling has improved and it has given me the skills and confidence to use a computer for the first time in my life. I have even been able to 'Skype' with my son in London.

The teachers at GippsTAFE are very understanding. The support, encouragement and patience they have shown me has given me the confidence to take on any challenge. They have helped me have the courage to follow my dreams.

I am now studying Aged Care and I have just completed my placement. It makes me so happy to be doing something I love and to be making a difference.

I want everyone who thinks or has been told that they won't be able to achieve something to see my story and know that they can do it.
