I began at GippsTAFE as an apprentice tradesman. They offered the Diploma, so I chose to do that as well. The training I did at GippsTAFE helped me develop the trade skills and technical knowledge I needed.

I won two GippsTAFE Apprentice of the Year awards. This success, along with my training, really caught the attention of my employer and I was offered a cadetship in engineering.

Since then I have gone on to further study. With my employers support, I am now completing the Principle Technical Officer course at R.M.I.T. It is an Advanced Diploma and will help me to continue to build my career.

GippsTAFE gave me the training and confidence I needed to get noticed in the industry and it taught me the skills that I use everyday on the job.

If I could give new students any advice it would be to make the most of your time at TAFE, you can learn a lot and it can lead you to some great opportunities.
